Joel Osteen Devotional 1ST March 2025 (New Month)

Today’s Topic: Wisdom
Scripture: If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. – James 1:5, NIV

Today’s Word
We all have people whom we look to for advice, but even people who love you and want you to succeed may not give you the right advice. You should weigh every suggestion, every piece of advice against what you feel in your spirit. God will not speak to other people about your life without speaking to you. You can hear from God. You don’t have to run to someone else to see what you should do.

The Scripture says that you should ask God for wisdom in your decision-making, and He will freely give it. I’ve found that the more you ask God, the less you have to depend on people. He has given us the Holy Spirit to live inside us and to be our counselor, our guide, our advisor. He’ll give you advice. He’ll help you make the right choices. You have to look inside, and you’ll sense that still small voice telling you what you need to do. It may just be an impression, an urging, not in your head but in your heart, giving you clear direction.

Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You for loving me and for Your promise to give me wisdom and clear direction to make the right choices. Help me to be sensitive to Your still small voice and hear it with clarity, to hear any alarms, promptings, and suggestions, and to be quick to obey. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

TODAY’S INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE: We spend a lot of time and energy taking care of our physical body. We try to eat right, exercise, get enough sleep, take vitamins. That’s all important. We want to feel good. But we don’t spend enough time taking care of our soul. We don’t realize how much our emotions, our attitudes, our thoughts are affecting us physically.

The Scripture says, “I wish above all things that you succeed and be in good health, even as your soul prospers.” This links being healthy physically, having energy, vitality, to how healthy your soul is. If your soul is unhealthy, it’s going to spill over to the physical.

You can be a believer for fifty years, you’ve grown, you’ve matured, but you will still have to deal with the flesh. This is a battle that will never go away. You don’t overcome it one time and it’s defeated. It will come back again. This is something we have to get skilled at. “No, I’m not going to let my flesh say everything it wants. I’m not going to take the bait and get offended by that person that did me wrong.

I’m not going to let my guard down and be dishonest in this business deal.” Are you winning the war within? Are you living by the Spirit, making decisions that honor God, or are you letting the flesh win, doing what you feel? You need to take the flesh off the throne. Quit letting it determine your decisions.
